Join CICC

The Children in Care Council is a way that children and young people who are looked after by Wakefield Council can have a say about things that really matter and affect your lives.

We run monthly meetings where young people can discuss things they want to change and improve to the care system with the managers and Councillors that make the decisions.

We run fun activities and events that give you and all looked after children and young people a chance to say what is good about living in care and what we can all do to make it better. We also have reward activities/trips to help develop your skills and to say thank you for your team work.

Want to make a difference? Join the Children in Care Council by completing our on-line form.

We have 3 children in care councils depending on your age group.
 - Ages 4 - 11 years - CICC Juniors (meets in school holidays for activities)
-  Ages 12 - 15 years - CICC (meets once a month, plus activities and trips in the holidays)
-  Ages 16 plus - The 16 plus forum meets once a month and is co-delivered with the leaving care team
