I do this job because I LOVE IT! Every day is a different day, I’m always really busy and never board! I enjoy the challenges involved in helping young people realise how special they are, believe me they all are, some just struggle to see it right away!

The biggest reason why I chose to work with and look after children and young people is so that I can try my best to make a difference to their lives and help them to realise their full potential.

I want the young people who come to live at The Foster Hub Home, whether it be for 1 month or for 6 months, to feel that they are truly cared for, valued and most importantly to be HAPPY!

Hi, my name is Shaun.

I do this job because I want to ensure that all children and young people get the best start in life. I love getting to know young people and finding out what they are interested in. I am keen on outside art and movies. I want to make sure that all young people feel safe and looked after in my care. I love helping young people discover their interests and meet their full potential   I am a person who is kind, caring and enjoy having a laugh. Overall, I want young people to know they can trust me and share anything with myself.

Here's what young people in Wakefield think of our homes:

"My carers are funny"
"I have a nice bedroom"
"Everyone takes an interest in me and say I am amazing"
"I do nice things"
"I am kept safe"
"My carers try their best and want the best for me"
"I am always listened to and respected"

"This is my 6th placement in 2 years. It is now my last and longest placement and I now call it home"
"This is the best home I have ever lived"
"My carers are beautiful and I love them, they are my sunshine and rainbow"
"We are extended family"
"I am listened to and taken seriously"
"My carers look out for my family as well me"

"Sam is like my Mum figure"

They look like all the other homes on the same street and are small nurturing environments for you to enjoy and thrive. Everyone here wants to help you to achieve your best and provide a safe environment for you to thrive in. We understand that moving to a new place to live can sometimes be scary.
