• Benson Lane is a residential home for up to 4 young people.
• At Benson Lane you will be looked after by people on the staff team. There are 15 staff at Benson Lane, including the manager, an assistant manager, a senior residential staff, residential staff, cleaning staff and a house keeper.
• Benson Lane can be busy and noisy at times but there are always staff around to support you.
• We are inspected by Ofsted who come to make sure we look after you properly. We also have monthly visits by our Regulation 44 inspector  who help Ofsted and between them they say we are ‘GOOD’.

In most cases, moving in should be planned and your social worker should have given you information about our home. If this was not possible, then visit should have taken place where you would have had an opportunity to have a look around.

When you arrive at the home we will show you where everything is and ask how you would like your room to be decorated and personalised.  Please feel free to bring any possessions with you.

At Benson Lane you will be looked after by a group of friendly staff whose job is to make you feel safe from the moment you move in.  They will always have time for you, and listen to any concerns you have. These are the people that will care for you on a day to day basis: taking you on activities, days out, and to School etc.  Staff will help you understand the rules and guidelines and what is expected of you ensuring you are kept safe and create a happy comfortable atmosphere for all to live in. The staff are always available to help with most things from homework to advice about fashion!

Your Care Plan is not just made up of what we think is best for you. It will take into consideration what everyone agrees is the best way to look after you. As always, your views are very important. After all, it is your life! You will be asked to sign your Care Plan to say you agree and are welcome to have a copy if you wish. Your social worker and parents may also be asked to sign the agreement.

We will keep on updating your Care Plan and monitor improvements, and evert six months we’ll have a CIC Review. This will be a meeting about you, and you should do your best to attend. Other people that will attend may be your Parents, Social Worker, teacher and whoever else is involved with you. The person that will run the meeting is called your Independent Reviewing Officer (I.R.O), and they make sure that everyone is working together to help you get the best out of life.
