Wakefield Council’s responsibilities to me
- Regularly review your pathway plan and make sure this is based on an assessment of need
- Make sure you have access to a personal advisor from age 16
- Make sure you are allocated a personal advisor before you turn 18
- Take reasonable steps to keep in touch at least every 2 months unless you or those around you say this needs to be something different
- Maintain suitable accommodation for you up to the age of 18
- From 18, support your access to suitable accommodation in line with what we have agreed in your pathway plan
- Support you in meeting your education, training or employment needs as set out in your pathway plan. This can in some cases include some financial support
- Support you in accessing vacation accommodation (in higher education or residential further education courses)
- Assess the need to establish if advice and support is required. If necessary a plan will be drawn up with you.
- Reasonable steps will be taken to ensure you are aware of your rights and entitlements
- We will signpost you to find and secure suitable accommodation
- An assessment will be made to see if we can help you with money to support your course of education or training. This could include support in accessing vacation accommodation (in higher education)
