My name is Becky and I am a Commissioning Placements Support Officer for Children’s Services. I work with Lisa, Nigel and our Manager Claire.

The biggest part of our job is to buy Fostering, Residential and Leaving Care placements from external agencies but only when Wakefield Council does not have space or a suitable home.

If a new placement is needed quickly, then we try to find the nearest placement to Wakefield.

Every new home we find, we always send the information to your social worker who will say yes or no, to wanting the placement. The final decision is made by the Boss (Head of Children’s Services).

The favourite part of my job is knowing that children are safe and happy in their new home.
