Bedrooms: YP personalise their own comfortable secure rooms and they are a place where YP relax and have their own private space

• We have a large lounge and also a games room (with a Pool table) – both rooms have a Smart TV
• If YP have hobbies/interests we will support and help develop these
• We have a quiet room with access to Internet/PCs too
• At weekends and in the holidays, we look to go out on trips and do activities such as the seaside/picnics – walks/cycling/swimming are a great way to relax
• Relax and listen to and even play music
• The bedrooms and private, spacious and relaxing areas
• Staff can support activities home such as baking, arts and crafts
• The home has large garden with equipment and room for outdoor games
• The home has a vehicle that gives options for rides around etc. Trips to local cinemas and parks are frequent
• Holidays are planned away from the home – this can be in holiday parks or camping for instance – all activities are chosen in consultation with YP.

• No smoking/alcohol, no substance use
• Education is a key element and YP are supported in terms of school attendance – this is an important building block and is integral to weekly routines
• Agreed return home and bed times are in place and YP are expected to settle on an evening – support staff sleep in the home too. Specific YP support plans/packages are developed with Social Workers/YP to ensure individual needs are met
• Lunch and evening meal times are routinely set – menus discussed with YP
• Pocket money is passed over every Saturday with a monthly allowance in place for Clothing and Personal Needs. Other support for haircuts etc. is in place
• Restorative approaches are taken in terms of any behavioural issues that occur - such as deliberate damage to property. It is entirely dependent on the seriousness of an incident as to how staff work with YP and may call upon other agencies for support.
