We have many people that can support, advise and give guidance to you to work towards your success including one to one support in achieving your learning goals


Your Personal Advisor

Your personal advisor will know you well and will be able to either refer you to the support services, or help you to find the right option for you. 

The team from the Virtual School will keep an eye on your progress through your PEP meetings.

Connexions Wakefield can support you. They who provide web and telephone contact around Information, Advice and Guidance about education, work and training opportunities up to the age of 25.

The Step Up Programme provides training and employment support when you are 19+.

The Wakefield Employment Hub provides Careers advice and support with securing training, employment opportunities including Apprenticeships for 15-24 year olds. 

Our Specialist Leaving Care Worker can give also you advice, in particular around opportunities with Wakefield Council, Higher Education. If you are unsure of what you would like to do, ask your Personal Advisor to arrange for you to meet with the SLCW.


DWP (Department of Works & Pensions) who run your local job centre will support you in finding a job, you will have a work coach who can guide you through the skills you need to find the right job for you alongside providing the training and knowledge you need.
