Personally, I think this training should be mandatory not just to newly qualified social workers, but to all employees that have any contact with children. It was some of the best training I’ve accessed in my career, and the passion and confidence that these young people display is incredible. To be able to openly share some of their most vulnerable experiences was such a powerful experience, and the impact that this will have on practice, and therefore for future generations of young people who experience the care system is enormous. They should all be exceptionally proud.
