What we did 2012!

Here is a wrap up of our achievements for 2012!

CICC Together.

We attended the first Yorkshire and Humber CICC regional RESIDENTIAL event with a host of other CICC's, involving over 10 children in care councils and over 40 young people!  This was an exciting venture enjoyed by our CICC members; the most rewarding part was meeting other CICC's and learning from each other. We have developed further by attending the regional meetings to share Wakefield's good practice and develop a stronger voice concerning issues in care.

Young people with care experience delivered 6 training courses to over 100 staff this year to develop their skills, knowledge and practice around participation, children's rights, advocacy and staff made pledges to the young people to keep up the good work.  And much much more... if you would like to come and see one of our Children in Care Meetings in action just get in touch with our Participation Worker who can arrange this for you, (depending on your job role).
